About Me

Theresa: I moved to Sweden in 2005 at the age of 35 after having spent nearly 30 years in the U.S., before that I lived in Sweden. When I lived in Los Angeles and later New York I felt really Swedish but here and now I feel very American! I love Mexican food, steak dinners, pretty much any and all fish, red wine, jazz music, a good book and a good movie but those seem to be hard to come by these days. I have two awesome kids and a lovely husband. This blog is for my friends and family whom remain in the U.S. but whoever you are and where ever you are: HEY! Hej!

Yes, I know...

Yes. I know our faces are either out of view, slightly blurry, out of range or all of the above. It is not my wish at this time to share our pretty faces with every stranger (to do w/as he/she wishes). If we are friends, well, then you know how gorgeous we are and you more then likely have access to our smiles and such via Facebook.

UPDATE: 1/28/2011

I kind of changed my mind... kind of... my kids are just too cute to not share so every now and then you will get a straight on, face forward, non blurry shot of love.

Swedish Language and such:

Fika: coffee date (usually involves pastries) "do you want to fika tomorrow?"

Sambo: partner. The literal translation is "same live" but it's always a 'lover', not a roommate.

Mys:Cozy. Tilda says all the time "I want to mysa" in other words "I want to cuddle". "Your home is so mysig"... your home is cute/cozy.

Semla: creamed filled pastry, which Swedes eat a lot of between New Year and Easter
